OMG ... Ald Soward will not like to see this as almost 80% of Launceston ratepayers voting here have got it WRONG by his reckoning

What do we pay the Mayor for? Isn't it his job to make the kind of arrangements that caused all this?

I was totally unaware the Mayor of Launceston was a ceremonial position. I thought that there was real work to do but poor sucker ratepayer as I am I am wrong again. TOTALLY WRONG!

People are entitled to their view.If 80 percent of people hold this view then good luck to them. The specific question if related to the committee that is related to the motion coming to council today is way off the mark- as I have said and will keep saying the GM 's actions follow not just one motion of council but TWO motions ; this will become clear in the debate today- the GM has, as he should, acted on two council motions to do with the Pulp Mill.As I have also said how " coincidental " that the pulp mill issue is beaten up the the greens elected alderman at elction time? The legal advice sought on the GM's actions give 100 percent certainty to me he has acted within the act and is simply doing his job as he should- sadly his job in this instance involves talking about a pulp mill, which according to those Greens out there is forbidden- unless of course you are talking about not building it or you are talking about breaking into workplaces and chaining yourself to machinery.

Yesterday we witnessed some gutless behaviour from our representatives on Council. Thank goodness there will be a turnover in their numbers in the next few days. Possibly there will be some new faces prepared to stand up to the general manager who it seems wants to be king. The fact that this past lot couldn’t find the balls to have a debate tells us something. It is way past time when a reality check was done. The tail is wagging the dog down at Town Hall. ENOUGH ALREADY
