Dear Tassie Ratepayers Blog and Tassie Heritage Protection Society,
It's not so much protecting Launceston from itself, but more like saving it from the people who don't have any concern for the heritage of Australia's 3rd or 4th (if you count George Town) oldest city. And it's also about saving it from the tiny group of people who hide behind the Local Government Act (especially Section 62 - witness how the City Manager is always peeping out from behind it) to use their positions to make the decisions that end up destroying the heritage, the ambience and amenity of Launceston. They're the ones Launceston and its heritage need saving from.
