RUCTIONS AT TOWN HALL?

Threats against Launceston alderman        By ROSITA GALLASCHOct. 17, 2014, 10:10 p.m. TASMANIA Police have received information following threats made against Launceston City Council alderman Danny Gibson.... CLICK HERE TO READ THE STORY

Stories like this tend to indicate that there is more to it than meets the eye. Cynics might even be excused for thinking it is a bit of a beat up ... but then again. The imperative here is to clear the air, rather than cloud it, so as ratepayers can get on with their voting. These elections are important and voters need to vote carefully and with all the information they need in front of them. Not much chance of that now?!

By now the Andrew Cameron and Associates reports into allegations
against the LCC general manager has surpassed the circulation of the
Examiner's Saturday edition and has been the virtual elephant in the
room for too long. This report commissioned by among others, the Mayor,
dating to February 2013 and the accompanying legal advice by Darrel Grey
has been doing the rounds for a good long time. It could only have been
leaked by one or more of the sitting aldermen who should all hang their
heads in shame at their inaction and spineless lack on action on it.
Danny Gibson words quoted today that bullying and intimidation should
not be tolerated are hollow, he is one of the aldermen who have sat on
the report and taken no action for more than 18 months. Mayoral and
aldermanic inaction on the Cameron report seems to condone daily
bullying by senior staff, but an alderman now seeks sympathy and
condemnation for a letter with unrevealed content. Incompetence, double
standards, selfish self interest?

When are these candidates going to focus on rate collections and systems for Launceston.
Does it have to come down to legal action between ratepayers and Council to get a fairer cheaper system up?

This all smacks of poor people management and appalling administration. In the real world people get shafted for much less. Also they would be on much lower salaries involved. But there are profits at stake.

Here it looks like its money at stake all of it ratepayers money. Money for jam?

HEY, just what percentage of Launceston’s ratepayers and residents live below the poverty line?

Transparency is wonderful thing. Can we have some please?

OK, so who's been shafted here?
The ratepayers, the Aldermen or the staff at Town Hall?
Spill the beans Danny G. was it you or the other two....and tell us who got what and who missed out (we probably know who's paying - the ratepayers of course!!
Sometimes three's a crowd.

"THE POLICE" you have to kidding. This is what's called a civil mater even if there is very little civility to be seen ..... What is probably going on is the forming up of a rather long conga line of lawyers looking to make $fastbuck$ and keep themselves in the way they wish to become accustomed ..... and pay their rates.

Every now and then you hear a proposal for a CIVIL POLICE FORCE now that is something to worry about. It'd worse than terrorism.

Look here for a collaborative effort to keep things just the same .... http://www.examiner.com.au/story/2634111/letter-shows-nasty-election/?cs=95 and hose down the toxicity on show ... you have to be kidding mate.
